ACTIVITIES	• Multicultural Club 2001-2003 Officer of Activities and Affairs • Family and Youth Services Bureau 2002-2005 Valparaiso, Indiana Volunteered 200+ hours with 7-10 adolescents to assist them in positive socializing and group activities. • Group Homes for Special Needs Adults 2004,2005 Valparaiso, Indiana Volunteered in a group home called the Princesses, a facility for seven elderly women. Assisted these individuals with personal hygiene and grooming. • Alterra Alzheimer House, Valparaiso Rehabilitation Center, Whispering Pines Retirement Home, Opportunity Enterprises, and Health Care Center 10+ hours at each location. Assisted with breakfast meal and interacted with patients. • Peer Tutoring 2004-2005 Valparaiso High School Assisted with Moderate to Mild Intervention Class
EXPERIENCE	Dairy Queen, Valparaiso, IN Shift Leader/Regular Worker January 2002 to May 2005 • Used cash register, cleaned, served, worked drive-thru, dealt with money, grilled, made ice-cream, and interacted with customers. • Learned cleanliness, money management, behind-the-scenes activities of a business, and patience. Hickory Farms, Merrillville, Indiana (Seasonal Position) Sampler October 2004 to January 2005 • Was a sales-representative; made samples of different meats and cheese. Christopher Center for Library and Information Resources, Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, IN Intern Summer 2005 • Eight-week internship provided experience in technical services, circulation, government documents and interlibrary loans; also learned web design and structure.
